The Virgin Forum vs. The Chad Telegram/Discord?!

If you're like me, you grew up during a time when forums were POPULAR, before they became a dead medium and Telegram, Discord, social media, and other platforms took over.

As for Phantom Overlay... yes we have a Telegram with announcements and a public group chat..

Yet we also have a forum because we all grew up on them. Is this the case for anyone else here? What was or were your favorite forums growing up and are you still active there?

TTG, 7s, Horizon(now WeMod), XPGamesaves and I'm sure there's others but that was over a decade ago I used some of them. Got perm banned ages ago on 7s but it expired, no longer active but still remember my logins etc.

I remember XPGamesaves! What did you mainly do on TTG and 7s in the past?

I am more of a forum person, and kind of like discord but I am trying to stay away from Tele.

It easier to track stuff and topics in forums, and that's why I like it.

While I do understand the easy of access for Tele and Discord, but it is also easy to miss on a lot of discussions due to random spam.

Argue with people bashing my GTA menu sales & host RGH/Jtag CoD lobbies etc, I didn't use TTG much mostly because 7s was more active.

I was kinda forum guy but mostly on cheat sites dc, nc,code hook or unknkwn,epvp etc. Some of those are dead now. I wasnt that active( i was mainly on TeamSpeak or vent). And right now I prefer discord since every site has it and they have alot info. Detections, updates etc.

EPVP, UC, and some other cheat forums back in the days, some I have moderated, some are dead now. While Discord/TG makes life easier in the present, what makes forum better is credibility. You see people who you can categorize as credible based on their activeness, thanks received and posts made. This is something the Discord Role could somewhat imitate but only by little.

I use to run my own forums powered by Vbulletin that i bought a server off i think it was called freesteam or something like that. I really new guys who was running that forum. I think it is down now. But i was selling steam accounts and was on the road with one guy to do a hacks on steam games but never happened.

My Favorite Platform was Skype I used to troll friends on there all the time back in 2007 - 2016 At one point I remember adding my friends skype to a website for lonely Indian men who are seeking skype calls with beautiful women, I Put him as a 21 year old female from Sydney and he just kept being added by thousands of desperate men XD

My Favourite Forum is tricky, But I dunno if it counts as a forum. Was myspace I found it alot better then facebook today.

Forums are a dying breed, Telegram and Discord are the main focus for other places as it's instant and can have notifications without email access.

Discord is not a good place for cheat sellers. I think you ended up making a Telegram. The PO forum is never really going to be active because forums are a dying medium as a whole & I can't change that. The Telegram has been a lot of fun lately. I just spam cat stickers

Forums are dead in general. PO is not large enough to have an active forum when massive OG forums are not really active anymore. I will keep the PO forum up but if you want to interact with us & other users, you'd have to use our Telegram

yup, loved the good old days when forums was in there prime.  i actually used to be heavily into gfx, graphics and creating signatures on forums so hanging out on sites like fringefx, siglabs etc.... also ran my own forum for a while and gained a few thousand members.

I'm actually older than most people think.

I spent my formative years on SA - mostly in FYAD lol. I definitely miss forums.

 

I didn't even know Lowtax died until I saw a doc on YT about it. Wild. Went to the forums for the first time in like 5 years. Surprised they were still up. Go back to GBS bro.

As im indeed a forum-head. missed the old days in 2007~2008 about game-development and animation (cheats too).
Hopefully people stops complaining about how there isn't a discord and use more the forum instead.

Great way to communicate, more organized and able to see what's happening.

For me here, the only way to use telegram is to have a chip that contains your number in it, for me big no bueno as i don't wanna my number running around.

 

EDIT: Actually just found out Telegram has a privacy feature so it doesnt show up your phone number, awesome news.
