i used my card info and it stated it failed however i get a notification 5 miin later advising me of a charge

Can you express yourself in more detail? Where were you scammed?

If it still charged you then most likely the transaction was successful but it gave you a failed message for whatever reason. Check the software keys tab under the account tab on the website and see if you have a key.
